Home > Cottages > Villa AddarioPart of a huge estate within the idyllic Val d’Orcia region of southern Tuscany, Villa Addario is a beautifully-restored country house surrounded by unspoilt nature. Enjoy breathtaking views over the rolling hills that are a typical feature of the landscape, all from this incredibly quiet retreat and its extensive grounds. The interiors of both the main villa and separate cottage showcase an elegant design and feature many antique pieces of furniture. An abundance of natural materials, such as stone, brick and wood add to the authentic atmosphere of this tucked-away idyll. Within the main villa are numerous living spaces that are all tastefully furnished. They offer plenty of comfortable seating for evenings spent relaxing in front of the fireplace or watching television. Some are more suited to quieter activities, such as reading or working, so you’ll always find a place to suit your needs. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need, and mealtimes are certainly special occasions at Villa Addario, with a choice of dining areas. Larger dining tables seat up to eight and 12 guests, with smaller spaces on offer too. One of the most stunning and sociable spaces in the whole villa is an open-plan lounge/dining area with pool table. There are six spacious bedrooms, with two ground-floor bedrooms accessed via separate garden entrances. Both also have their own private bathroom with shower and bath tub. The first floor is where you’ll find the remaining four bedrooms, with one suite boasting a living room. There’s a lovely family bathroom for all guests to use also. Villa Addario is set within lush, lawned gardens that are dotted with a variety of Mediterranean trees and plants. You can also find several seating areas for simply relaxing and soaking up the tranquil atmosphere. The large, private pool is joined by several sun loungers, offering you further opportunities to unwind. A charming covered area is home to a table and chairs for al fresco dining. As the villa is part of a country estate, you have the chance to get involved with traditional country pursuits. These include shooting with dogs, stalking, driven shooting and boar hunting. The wild beauty of the immediate area opens up before you as you explore its fields and pathways. Radicofani and Cetona are just a short drive away, as is the medieval village of San Casciano dei Bagni with its thermal springs and picturesque churches. And plenty of historic sightseeing can be enjoyed in the town of Arezzo, which is an hour’s drive from the villa.
