You will feel a little as though you have stepped back in time at Casa La Bassa. The villa will give you a real feel for Mallorcan village life. It is rustic and traditional, though extremely well taken care of. Situated in the charming village of Muro, a fifteen-minute drive to the popular beach resort of Can Picafort, you will get a taste of real Mallorca.
The village square is dominated by the village church and park where the locals walk and pass the time when they are not working. With 4 atmospheric bedrooms, the villa sleeps 8 guests so is ideal for a large family, two families or a group of friends.
Muro is a picturesque, traditional rural village with sandstone buildings. It dates back to 1232 with the Christian conquest. Moneylenders were allowed to live in Muro as a token of gratitude for helping to finance the war effort, so it was a town of wealth and privilege. It is within an area known as the ‘vegetable basket’ of Mallorca with a rich tradition of farming. You will find plenty of fresh produce, especially at the Sunday morning market, and thriving wine industry.
Casa La Bassa is a 4 bedroomed village townhouse. It boasts some wonderful views to the Bay of Alcudia, Playa de Muro and Can Picafort from the bedrooms and entrance. The villa is finished to a high level with modern ensuite bathrooms. The stone walls and beamed ceilings are very atmospheric.
The old-world charm runs throughout the villa and outside into the courtyard. The spacious living room is open to the traditional dine-in kitchen. They open to the courtyard garden with an inviting pool, grass banks, sun loungers and a covered dining area. There is a freshwater well, a large wood-burning barbecue and an enclosed beamed summer kitchen for fabulous summer meals.
The 4 bedrooms are lovely. Two have kingsize beds, one has a queen-size bed, and the other is a twin bedroom. They all have lovely, modern bathrooms. The upper terrace has casual seating, a parasol and wonderful views over the pool and terrace.
