Home > Cottages > Casa di LeucaFully immerse yourself into the local culture by calling Casa di Leuca home, a spot that embraces unforgettable Mediterranean style both inside and outside. This traditional home is covered in stone, according to the ancient local tradition, and makes for the perfect home away from home.
The villa consists of two independent spaces, the main house and then the Trulli, which dates back to 1700s: both of these areas offer living and dining spaces, as well as various bedrooms. The main villa has a lot of traditional Mediterranean touches, from the tiles in the bedrooms and bathrooms to the exposed beams throughout the home. While the Trulli, a traditional Apulian dry stone hut, is kept very traditional letting the beautiful construction stay the main feature.
Accommodating up to 14 guests in seven bedrooms, this villa is incredibly spacious while still offering a lot of places for everyone to gather together. The seven bedrooms are spread across the main house and the Trulli and consist of predominantly double bedrooms. Most bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning for a restful slumber, and the three master bedrooms both offer en-suite bathrooms.
The living area in the main home opens directly to the outdoor area, offering a beautiful indoor-outdoor flow, also giving a prime spot to enjoy the sea view. Here, all guests can comfortably sit to debrief on their day or watch a film. Connected to this space is the main dining room, a large space with a table that seats 14 guests. Feasts can be prepared in the main kitchen that is well-equipped, offering all the bells and whistles.
There is also a smaller living and dining room in the Trulli, with a single sofa bed and a kitchenette – ideal for a small family.
The villa is surrounded by wide terraces and gardens, creating the perfect oasis to relax and recover. There is a small, secluded corner in the garden, perfect for a morning coffee, that has panoramic views and is enclosed by a hedge of carob and jasmine.
Days can be spent in or around the beautiful private swimming pool that has spring water, there’s also two esplanades with a whirlpool. The pool is in the middle of the lush greenery with tall palm trees rustling in the sea breeze. The outdoor area is also the perfect spot to enjoy a meal or two, the back patio has a large dining table that is covered by a vine creeper that provides the perfect amount of shade to escape from the heat of the day.
This villa is located on the coast of Santa Maria di Leuca, a high rocky coast that lines beautiful, turquoise waters. Grotte di Terrarico and Grotta di Purraru are both less than a five minutes’ drive away along the costal road. The villa is a 30-minute walk or 7-minute drive (3.6km) in to the centre of Santa Maria di Leuca. It’s an hour drive into Lecce (84km).
