Mal Pas is an affluent little Alcudia suburb with stunning beaches. Playa de Sant Pere is a wonderful, quiet beach with fine sand, crystal clear water and magnificent views to the Formentor peninsular. Just 2 minutes away is Playa de Sant Joan, again fabulous, so you get two stunning beaches for the price of one! The beaches both have waves, unlike a lot of the Mallorcan beaches, so they are such fun. Lots of pleasure will be had jumping over the waves!
Just around the corner is the wonderfully historic town of Alcudia. The Medieval Old Town is incredibly atmospheric with cobbled streets, historic buildings including the Church of Saint Crist, welcoming restaurants offering delicious cuisine and pretty shops. The fabulous Friday open-air market takes place within the Old Town walls and is so colourful and buzzing. Concerts and plays take place in the summer months. The music ranges from medieval music to cool jazz. It is such a lovely place to amble around or just sit in a bar, and people watch!
The huge stretches of white-golden sand around the horseshoe bay at the beach are incredibly breathtaking. There are many chic bars, restaurants and cafes. The many caves, islets and small coves are fantastic to explore on the various boat trips available. The marina is dazzling with luxury yachts bobbing around.
Just north of Mal Pas is the famous honey-stoned old town Pollensa and the magnificent Puerto Pollensa. It is a wonderful experience to walk through the majestic walls and amble around the cobbled streets of the Old Town. The excellent Sunday market has a bustling atmosphere, and delicious food stands. The 365 Calvari Steps lead from the Placa Major to the top of the town where you can enjoy the spectacular views and visit the lovely little church. It is well worth the climb!
