Just a few moments' walk from a gorgeous beach, Casa Elma is in an enviable spot in Puerto Banus, Marbella. The area is known for its buzzing restaurant and bar scene, as well as a luxurious marina.
There are several golf courses nearby, including Nueva Andalucia, Los Naranjas and Valderamma. Opened in 1977, Los Naranjos was voted one of the best golf courses in Spain and regularly hosts events like the Spanish Open. Here, guests can play on greens with Penn-A4 grass and join a Golf Academy, all within a peaceful setting. There are lots of facilities here such as a clubhouse and restaurant complete with a wine cellar.
Of course, Marbella is known for its fabulous blue-flag beaches. Puerto Banus beach is a playground for jet-setters, full of beach clubs and with a marina full of luxury yachts. This area is superb for a sunset cocktail and for a stroll along the boardwalk. The area is also famous for its nightlife, with everything from rooftop bars to 'super clubs' open from dusk til dawn.
For a more relaxed beach, try Rio Verde. There are lots of amenities for families including sun loungers and 'chiringuitos' - cafes on the sand. The swimming is fantastic here and the shoreline stretches for 1.5km. Interestingly, the beach is close to an ancient Roman city with unique black and white mosaics.
Marbella's Old Town is sometimes overlooked by visitors to the region. Packed with interesting architecture, art galleries, bars and restaurants, the Old Town is a lovely day trip. Wander to the Orange Square, a beautiful Andalucian plaza filled with orange trees and plants. Watch the world go by from a heritage cafe with a glass of wine or coffee in hand. In this area, guests can also see St Mary's Church, with its beautiful baroque red stone entrance.
Marbella has excellent shopping, with everything from high street names to designer labels. Additionally, there are so many unique artisan items and homewares on offer. Puerto Banus has a street market on Saturdays, where guests can join the locals and hunt out some souvenirs to take home. There are over 120 stalls here where you can pick up everything from fruit and veg to antique furniture.
