This villa is in a prime location in Fuengirola, a popular and family-friendly spot on the Costa del Sol. The area has a charming atmosphere, lots of fashionable boutiques and of course, fantastic blue-flag beaches. Mijas itself has a charming old village with whitewashed houses that cascade down a mountainside. Climb up for spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. The puebla has plenty to see and do, such as horse carriage rides and a flamenco show on Wednesday afternoons.

The golf course that the villa is next to - Mijas Golf - was designed by the renowned golfer Robert Trent Jones Jr. It boasts two courses - Los Lagos and Los Olivos. These 18- hole masterpieces have amazing countryside views. Alternatively, the Cerrados del Aguila resort is part of the Golf Valley of Mijas. Small yet perfectly formed, this golf course excels in 9-hole courses and has a restaurant on site. There are beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea from most of its courses.

Fuengirola beach is the closest to the villa and definitely worth exploring. This beach has something for everyone - with 7km of golden shoreline, separate areas for watersports and bathing and family friendly atmosphere. The beach runs from Sohail castle to Torreblanco, and it has plenty of chiringuitos, which loosely translates to cafes on the sand. Lots of these serve fresh, local seafood. In terms of watersports, guests can try wakeboarding, water-skiing, tubing and parasailing. Additionally, Fuengirola is a great spot for sunset cocktails and has a buzzing nightlife scene.

Marbella's Old Town is often overlooked by visitors to the region, but it has countless art galleries, bars and restaurants. Take a stroll to explore the Orange Square - an Andalucian plaza filled with orange trees and lots of plants. Guests can people-watch from a heritage cafe in the square, with a glass of wine or coffee. In this area, guests can also see St Mary's Church, with its beautiful baroque red stone entrance. Fans of Dali should not miss Avenida del Mar in central Marbella, as his sculptures are displayed all along the boardwalk. There are benches here where you can admire them and soak up the history.
