Bari is both a port city on the Adriatic Sea and the capital of Puglia. Its maze-like old town, Barivecchia, occupies a headland between two harbours and it is surrounded by narrow streets where the 11th-century San Nicola cathedral can be found. To the south, the Murat quarter has stately 19th-century architecture, a promenade and pedestrianized shopping areas. Casa Luisa is situated in the residential Picone area of Bari, just a 15 minutes drive from the airport and a few minutes walk from a range of shops, bars and restaurants. You can also visit the region of Matera, which will be the 2019 European World Capital of Culture. Luckily, you can access this beauty from the local train station.
