The historical site of St. Nicholas Abbey is only a 22-minute drive away from Cove Beach Mansion. The site is home to an immense house, picturesque gardens and gullies and a rum distillery. Whilst visiting St. Nicholas Abbey, you will be greeted with the islands famous rum punch. Visitors will be able to enjoy a charming black and white 1935 home movie detailing the history of the abbey, a guided tour and an intriguing museum. The Terrace Café at the abbey is a great spot for lunch, tea and light refreshments. During your visit to St. Nicholas Abbey, you must see the nearby Cherry Tree Hill. Despite its name, the area is less known for its cherry trees today and more for the breath-taking view of the island’s East Coast. The famed scenic spot also offers views over the island’s ‘Scotland District’ and the parish of Saint Andrew. It is an ideal location for quiet contemplation and tranquil alone time.
