Known as the ‘white city’, Ostuni is an enchanting discovery on Italy’s Puglian coast. The old town sits on a hilltop looking out to sea and has much to delight visitors, including a Gothic cathedral built in the 15th century. Views out across the Adriatic and some pretty beaches nearby also draw people to the area.

There is a lot of architecture to admire in Ostuni. Landmarks like the Palazzo Municipale and the Column of Sant’Oronzo are notable, yet it’s not all about the past. These days, you’re just as likely to visit the city for its excellent restaurants where you can get a genuine taste of what Puglian cuisine is all about. In a region packed with vineyards and olive groves, you know you are going to eat and drink well when you arrive in Ostuni.
