Villa Alecrim is located just 2km from the centre of Estoi, a small Parish, or community, in the Algarve offering shops, bars and restaurants, with a great atmosphere and good food. An ideal destination if you are in search of a luxury holiday villa in coastal Portugal. The nearest beach is a mere 11.6km away, and there is also a regular and inexpensive bus service connecting Faro with Estoi, which means that this delightful town is easily accessible for all travellers.
Estoi is the location for one of the Algarve finest 19th century “Rococo” styled palaces. The Palácio de Estoi is painted a distinctive pink colour and is surrounded by beautiful and decorative gardens. Steeped in antiquity, the Milreu Ruins also showcase Roman architecture dating back to 1 AD. More recent history provides visitors with the opportunity to enjoy Palacio de Estoi, which is noted as one of the more poignant historic gardens in Portugal. The premises were erected in the 18th Century and showcase impressive grounds, as well as architecture and art that is synonymous with the era.
Estoi is a few kilometres from the clamour of Faro and therefore provides a more serene setting in the foothills. Estoi is home to a number of quaint local services, that resemble more of an authentic Portuguese holiday experience. Picture old men sitting in cafes (or benches) all day long, women gossiping and nothing much happening during the heat of the day. Estoi has a very different atmosphere than the popular coastal towns, a relaxed atmosphere that is best experienced in the cafes and open air restaurants.
The beautiful Algarve beaches are also not far away, where guests can snorkel, go on boating excursions and try new watersports! Popular tourist resorts such as Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura are easily accessible by car; here, guests will find a huge array of restaurants, both upmarket at modest, as well as golf courses, tennis courts and fantastic shopping opportunities.
