Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach to Sani village to visit the local minimarket, the small shops, café’s, tavernas and restaurants and to the magnificent Sani Marina; with its fabulous shops and restaurants, boats of all shapes and sizes from small traditional fishing boats to the most spectacular of yachts and cruisers, the marina will draw you again and again. Go on, take a seat, have a coffee and watch the boats and the world go by.
It is well worth hiring a car to enjoy the whole of the Halkidiki peninsula to visit other fabulous golden beaches and admire the magnificent ancient sites. Not far from Sani, just across the peninsula, is the very beautiful traditional village of Afytos with its cobbled streets, stone houses and Orthodox Christian Churches. Nea Poteidaia is a small village founded in 1922; of particular significance is the bridge over the medieval canal, most likely dug by the Romans which actually makes Kassandra an island. The village is now a busy tourist resort in summer attracting visitors to its beautiful beach. Nea Moudania is the most dynamic community of southern Halkidiki - a vibrant, busy place with larger shops, traditional cafés and banks. At sunset, this is the place to be to enjoy the truly breathtaking sight that is the sun setting behind Mount Olympus.
