There is quite a lot going on in Muro. The Sunday morning market has an impressive display of local fresh produce. A great opportunity to stock up for the villa! The Museo Etnologico de Muro features displays of traditional, rural life in Mallorca during different periods in history. You will find examples of traditional pottery which are still made today. If you would like to sample some local wine, the excellent vineyard of Bodega Butxet is close by, on the road to Can Picafort. You can also see a show at the local bull ring!
Can Picafort is full of sun, fun and summer buzz! This popular coastal resort is so developed you might think it is a purpose-built resort, but actually it has a lot of history and developed from being a small fishing village. There is great shopping, a Friday morning weekly market, a white, sandy, beautiful beach with so many watersports and many amazing restaurants, cafes and bars. The unspoilt beach of Son Serra de Marina is within easy distance too.
Experienced golfers will thoroughly enjoy the 18 hole course at Club de Golf Alcanda. It boasts amazing views as well as lovely fairways and a great restaurant.
In just 10 minutes you can be in the picturesque town of Alcudia. Alcudia has an architectural heritage with traces of human presence back to the 8th century BC. There are many historic buildings such as the Church of Sant Jaume, the Chapel of Sant Crist and La Sala to visit. The Medieval Old Town, with its intricate walls, cobbled streets, amazing restaurants and bars, evening entertainment and the open-air market, is a joy to visit. The marina is very buzzy with bars, restaurants and luxury yachts.
