Tuscany
Home > Cottages > Villa CarosellaVilla Carosella is a dream escape for getting away from it all and enjoying a slice of the stunning Val d'Orcia countryside in southern Tuscany. This grand villa is tucked away in the middle of green rolling hills, woodlands and a pretty patchwork of fields. And its elevated position means sweeping views over the landscape can be soaked up from all parts of its extensive outside space.
Villa Carosella's location is also ideal for exploring the gorgeous villages and towns of the Val d'Orcia. Radicofani, famous for its hilltop fortress, is just 10 minutes away by car. And the historic towns of San Casciano dei Bagni, Cetona and Sarteano are all within easy reach.
Nine ensuite bedrooms and a choice of living spaces over three floors are all presented in stately, historic fashion at Villa Carosella. Traditional Tuscan style sits beautifully alongside modern luxuries, with original features adding to the authentic atmosphere.
Brick arches set into whitewashed walls complemented by tiled floors and wood-beamed ceilings is the characterful look throughout Villa Carosella. It makes the main living space with its central, feature fireplace especially cosy. Unwind here with drinks before dinner, and then afterwards enjoy a game or two in the billiards room.
There's no shortage of leisure options on offer here, with an indulgent indoor sauna area and even more surprises outside. A tennis court, swimming pool and bowls are there for when you're feeling active. And a bridge-crossed pond and pergola-covered path for when a walk through the rambling gardens is just what you need.
Meals on the terrace under a romantic pergola allow you to fully appreciate the stunning hill views. Al fresco dining on balmy afternoons, as the sun begins to set, or under the stars and soft lantern light all guarantee unforgettable experiences.
Explore beyond beautiful Villa Carosella and you'll find that this part of southern Tuscany is dotted with towns full of history and culture. As well as towns famous for the thermal baths that are so typical of the region. These include the well-preserved medieval town of San Casciano dei Bagni and Chianciano Terme.
Cetona is another beautiful medieval town to visit nearby. Like Radicofani, it's home to a stunning fortress; 10th-century La Rocca. Go back even further in time in Sarteano at Necropoli Delle Pianacce and discover a wealth of ancient Etruscan tombs.
