Located 7km south of the city of Rhodes, Koskinou is a beautiful village known for its charming character, ancient Greek history and striking natural scenery. With a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere and plenty of things to do and see it is an ideal choice for families and couples alike.
In Koskinou centre, there is a selection of local restaurants and tavernas. You can also explore the narrow winding streets with beautiful neoclassic houses painted in bright, vibrant colours, the main square or visit the domed church of Aghia Irini, which is more than 200 years old. For eating in, the nearest supermarket is 800m from the villa, where you can pick up your essentials.
Koskinou enjoys spectacular views of the sparkling blue seas in the distance, and the villa is 2.2km from Kalithea Springs – an ancient spa surrounded by stunning gardens and decorated with pebble mosaics – and 5km from the famous seaside resort of Faliraki.
In Faliraki you can take your pick from a selection of stunning golden beaches. There is Kathara Bay, a quiet cove just past the fishing harbour of St Apostolos. It has soft sand, and shallow water – ideal for swimming – and in the distance there might be local fishermen reeling in their catch.
You could also go on a day trip to Rhodes Town, 7km from the villa. It is the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands and is known for its beaches and ancient ruins. Examples include the popular Old Town where there is a medieval Street of the Knights and Palace of the Grand Masters.
From historic sites to waterparks, and plenty of places to enjoy water sports or hiking routes nearby, Koskinou is the perfect destination for holidaymakers of any age.
