Villa Larena enjoys a residential setting in an area around 10 minutes away by car from the small town of Sa Pobla. Here you’ll find shops and supermarkets that give you the chance to stock up on groceries and various other holiday essentials. There’s also a good choice of restaurants, should you decide to stay close to the villa when heading out for an evening meal.
Approximately a 15-minute drive away from the villa is the historic town of Pollensa. One of the most famous sites here is the Roman bridge that spans the river Sant Jordi. If you happen to visit the city while wearing sturdy footwear, you must take the steep uphill walk to the medieval chapel and watchtower of Puig de Pollenca, as you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views.
A 20-minute drive northeast will bring you to Alcudia, another historic town that also boasts a gorgeous stretch of sand called Playa de Alcudia. This beach is one of best in the area for enjoying a family day out by the seaside, with its soft, white sand and shallow waters that are perfect for the little ones to swim in.
You can also enjoy a boat trip out to explore the coast and local area or hire some pedaloes and kayaks for having fun on the water at your own pace. Backing the beach is a long boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants and cafés.
Head inland at Alcudia to discover a maze of winding streets lined with a mix of medieval houses, cafés, charming craft shops and chic boutiques, all nestled within 14th-century town walls. Some of the most exciting sites to visit include the medieval parish Church of Sant Jaume and the Roman ruins.
