The beach is just a 15-minute walk away from Villa Lorretta. One of the first lovely features you’ll come across the golden sand is a great children’s playground. This area of the beach tends to be quieter and less crowded than further along the coast, so you can pass a few laidback hours here.
By the playground are some picnic tables, so why not make up a picnic and enjoy lunch at this picturesque spot. You can also hire sun loungers and parasols for relaxing on the sand and watching as the children play in the calm waters.
For a large choice of restaurants, cafés, shops and supermarkets you’ll probably want to jump in the car and head a little further down the beach. Stroll around the port and marina area to enjoy lovely views of the bay and over the town.
Less than a 15-minute drive west is the charming town of Pollensa. It’s a place with a long and exciting history, which you can still see as you wander its winding, narrow streets. The market square is where you’ll find most of the restaurants, bars and cafés.
It’s also where a great market is held every Sunday, so be sure to pick up souvenirs or some examples of local arts and crafts if you happen to visit on this day. The streets are full of quaint shops and boutiques that are on offer every day also. Historical and cultural points of interest include the Roman bridge, Pont Romà, and the Puig de Pollensa, which is a monastery on top of a hill above the town.
