This is also a great place to take a walk on, with your feet strolling along the pebbles. Kassiopi Castle is a beautiful monument that overlooks the village. Located on top of the hill, the castle provides a great walk up to it. The castle is nestled in glorious greenery and is thought to be built during the 6th century when Emperor Mauricius reigned. Kassiopi was one of the three Byzantine-period castles that protected the island and boasts mesmerising vistas over the village. The walk around the castle’s ruins is a calming experience, allowing you to quietly contemplate life way back then.
