Cala Jondal Beach is a delight. It is beautiful and very fashionable. Surrounded by pines and jagged cliffs, it is a top pick for luxury boat owners. The beach is part white pebbles and part sand. There are beach clubs, restaurants, bars, lounges, parasols, showers, massage, boutiques and pedalos. The glam and glitzy Blue Marlin is the undisputed king of Ibiza’s beach club scene. It serves delicious food, offers deluxe lounge areas, and you can party until 4 am to the sounds of the resident DJ’s. Around sunset, you will start to admire the fashion show of the who’s who and the jet-set party will start on the terrace. There is a soundproofed mini-club where the party carries on until the early hours.
Not far away, San Jose is a charming village with a wonderful selection of restaurants and shops. It is in the foothills of Sa Talaia, the highest mountain on the island. The Saturday morning market is very popular. You will find artists selling paintings, ceramics and sculptures as well as stalls selling fresh local produce and baked items.
San Agustin is one of the prettiest villages on Ibiza. It is almost untouched by modern tourism. The pretty whitewashed church and tiny neighbourhood bar are lovely. From the church square, you can enjoy fabulous views of the San Jose hills and lush open countryside.
Off the west coast, the rocky island of Es Vedra stands 400m high, opposite the beach of Cala d’Hort. It is shrouded in myths and legends, the most popular being that is it the third most magnetic spot on earth. Many believe that the island is possessed of positive healing and creatively-inspiring energy.
There are some excellent shopping opportunities in Ibiza. Ibiza Town has some beautiful boutiques and larger stores. The markets on the island are very popular. There are various hippy markets, the most famous being Punta Arabi Hippy Market in Es Cana. There are other markets including the Forada market, the ecological food and craft market at San Jose, the Cala Llonga market, the San Rafael artisan market, the San Miguel artisan market and the Sant Jordi flea market.
