Ibiza Town is a favourite with clubbers but actually has it all. It is extremely diverse with a fabulous historical centre; the World Heritage-listed Dalt Vila. Dalt Vila is a treasure trove of history, mystery and discoveries spanning 2500 years. It is perched on a small mountain overlooking the town. The narrow, winding cobbled streets offer magnificent views from the breaks in the high ramparts. The Plaza de Vila boasts many atmospheric restaurants, art galleries and shops selling handcrafted goods.
The Contemporary Art Museum is worth a visit. Sitting majestically is the imposing Cathedral of Nuestra Senora de las Nieves with views as far as Ibiza’s sister island Formentera. Cinema Paradiso is an open-air cinema in Dalt Vila showing the latest film releases. Another very popular area is the trendy Marina Botafoch. You will find some incredible floating palaces in the marina as well as excellent restaurants, bars and boutiques. Just across the road is the lovely beach of Talamanca. The renowned super-club Pacha is just minutes away.
South of the centre, the two beaches Playa d’en Bossa and Playa de ses Figueretes delight guests. Playa de ses Figueretes is the nearest to the villa and offers white sand, watersports, boat trips and a palm-fringed promenade. In the evening the promenade comes alive with small stands selling jewellery and souvenirs as well as happy diners enjoying dinner on the terraces. Playa d’en Bossa is home to famous clubs such as Ushuaia and Hi Ibiza and boasts the longest beach on the island. It is dotted with cool and swanky beach bars with Bali beach beds, excellent food, laid-back music and wonderful service. You can stand-up paddleboard, jet ski, take a catamaran or have fun on the inflatable rides.
You may like to take a day trip to the beautiful island of Formentera, the smallest of the Balearic islands. You can take the ferry from Ibiza Town and reach the island in 40 minutes. The beaches are stunning with fine silver sand and turquoise, crystal-clear water, all backed by dunes and pine trees. Time seems to stand still on Formentera. You can explore charming villages, eat delicious food and enjoy the sunshine.
