Albufeira is a superb destination to enjoy the many hours of Algarve sunshine. There are over 20 beaches to choose from within easy reach! Albufeira hugs the coastline and offers a prime vantage point to showcase the dazzling white houses with Moorish flair, the breathtaking multi-hued stunning cliffs and the old fortress remnants.
As well as the busy town and beaches you might like to see some the wonderful countryside. A good way to do this is to take a jeep safari. You will travel through the mountains of the Algarve and enjoy the beautiful landscapes, regional architecture and medieval monuments. You can also soak in the waters of waterfalls or riverbanks and stop to taste the local honey and liqueurs. It is a great trip.
There are great shopping opportunities in Albufeira. Albufeira Shopping Mall has many boutiques as well as a massive supermarket to stock the villa. There are lots of unique shops around the marina and in the Old Town too.
The wonderful beaches include the breathtaking Salgados, Gale, Castelo, Sao Rafael and Arrifes beaches in the west and Oura, Santa Eulalia, Maria Luisa and Olhos de Agua to the east. Falesia Beach is a firm favourite with its golden sands. The Oura area of Albufeira is a great place for families and beach lovers. It is only a short walk from the ‘Strip’ but is quieter with good restaurants, cafes and shops.
Albufeira is famous for its busy nightlife. Clubs stay open very late, especially in the ‘Strip’. It is popular for hen and stag trips as there is so much going on. There are over 100 restaurants and bars in the Old Town. It is not all about the party scene though, as the Old Town is charming and atmospheric. The main square Jardim Publico de Albufeira is the heart of the Old Town with open-air restaurants, cafes and bars and frequent live music. The Sant’Ana Church and the Museum of Sacred Art are a delight to wander around.
